End of Year Field Trip!
To Be Determined...stay tuned for more information!
Welcome to 7th Grade Vet Prep Class!
I am looking forward to our fun activities this year! Our main focus in this class is on small mammals. Last year our 7th grade students really enjoyed raising and working with mice to study their coat colors (genetics), how those colors were passed down to their offspring (heredity), and learning and memory (neuroscience) in mice!
You will learn how to care for these creatures in class, maintain a weight management system by tracking their body mass, create ID charts, design experiments to test factors like their favorite treats and how fast they can swim a maze! At the end of the year, you will help to get all our mice adopted through a campaign YOU will create here at school. Check out last year's student website used for taking adoption orders.
There is lots of fun, but lots of science to learn as well. So, get ready for an exciting year!
